The Ho butchers and meat sellers have sigh a word of caution to the Municipal Assembly to inform them earlier of any intended exercise else they will resist and will not comply.
According to the butchers, it is unfortunate that they have to pack their meat whilst customers are there to purchase.
The butchers after complaining to the media were seen busily packing their fresh meat to allow the fumigation and the disinfection.
“We will lose today’s market because we have stock of the rest of the meat in the freezer but you see many of our customers don’t like the left over meat” they lamented.
The second phase of the national disinfection and fumigation exercise of markets and public places ongoing was thwarted in the Volta Region at Ho slaughter house when the butchers say they were not aware of the exercise.
According to the chief butcher at the Ho slaughterhouse, Awudi Osmanu, they were not informed by the Assembly of the exercise.
He said they only allow the exercise because of peace and called on the Assembly not to repeat that mistake again.
