The management and Staff of East Legon – based Power FM on Good Friday spent time with the Dzorwulu Special School where they donated to support the running of the government facility.
Dubbed “Power Kyerɛ Wo dɔ” (Show your Love), the items, ranging from assorted drinks, bags of flour, rice, gari, sugar; cooking oil, teaching and learning materials such as card boards, pencils, and packs of A4 sheets were handed to the school authorities.
Most of the items were from listeners of Power FM with support from management of the radio station.
Handing the items to the school, the commercial director of XYZ Broadcasting Limited, Neil-Armstrong Mortagbe said it was a way to share love with the school just as Christ died to save the world.
He noted that the kind gesture was a corporate responsibility of the company, saying Power FM believes in giving back to the society.
Obviously, the pupils felt loved and made merry.
The head of the school, Mr Frederick Tetteh, who was overwhelmed by the donation, thanked the management of Power FM and the listeners who contributed to the occasion.
“We are so happy that Power FM has done this for us. We are most grateful and we pray for God’s blessings for you,” he told Piesie Okrah of mypowerfmonline.com
Mr Tetteh also appealed to the public to support them since “government can’t provide for us all we need.”
