AGM/Aker Energy Deal: ‘Total Rip-Off, Shameful’ – Former GNPC Boss

Former Chief Executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Mr Alex Mould has described as shameful, Parliament’s approval of the amendment to the AGM petroleum agreement despite serious concerns raised.

Mr Alex Mould is demanding renegotiation and a thorough review of the petroleum agreement which saw the country’s stake in the oil contract reduced from 43 per cent to 18 per cent. He was speaking during a public forum organized by Caucus for Democratic Governance.

Executive Director Of the Institute for Energy Security, Anamoah Sakyi who also addressed the forum said its an irony that Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu, is part of the shady deal when in 2014 as Executive Director of energy think Thank, Africa Center for Policy Analysis, ACEP, he raised serious concerns about AGM.

Chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee Steve Manteaw and President of Think Tank Imani Africa Franklin Cudjoe also made startling revelations.
