ALL 378 Savelugu Kayaye Returnees Tested Negative

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Savelugu Municipality, Hajia Aishetu Seidu has revealed that all the three hundred and seventy eight Kayayes that returned after the lockdown have tested negative to Covid 19.

According to the MCE, health officials were positioned to test all the Kayaye returnees that trooped in to Savelugu during and after the lockdown.

She disclosed this to the Power Fm’s Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman during the second phase of National disinfection and clean up exercise.

She added that the health officials went to an extent of chasing those Kayeyes to their various towns and Communities to test them.

“We sent health officials to various communities to fish out those that entered the Municipality without approved route and tested all of them and we only allowed them to go home after 14 days of quarantine” she explained.

She added that the Kayeyes were allowed to mi gle with people after the test results proved negative.

She further called on the security to arrest residents that are failing to wear the mandatory nose mask.

“I believe if the security arrest one or two people and prosecute them for refusal to wear nose masks then the rest will learn from it and wear” she concluded.
