Asamponhene Killing: Police Declare Suspect ‘Sadat’ Wanted

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has declared one Mohammed Sadat popularly known as ‘Alhaji’ wanted over the killing of the Asamponhene of Kumasi and owner of Sikka FM in Kumasi Nana Fodour.

The command said it believed the suspect was in the company of the slain chief at the time of his death and as such is behind the incident.

Deputy Ashanti Regional Commander ACP David Agyemang Agyim speaking at a press conference said, “so far our investigation tells us that he was in the company of one Sadat Mohammed who is 38 years old and is popularly known as Alhaji. He was with Alhaji at his residence in Kwadaso. Again, we have information that they had travelled together on that same day. So we are making all effort to locate this person but to no avail.”

He added, “So the command has secured an arrest warrant for this person and so we declare him a wanted person. So Alhaji also known as Sadat Mohammed has been declared wanted by the Ashanti regional police command.”

The police noted that it is holding three people in their custody, who they say are close associates of the late chief.
