The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been praised for the policies lined up in its manifesto.
Backbone of Good Governance, a group that focuses on good governance in a sta tement hailed the NDC for a manifesto that “inspires hope” to propel Ghana on a path of “accelerated economic growth.”
The manifesto dubbed “the people’s manifesto” which was launched last week has received commendation from several groups and analysts for capturing basic challenges of the ordinary Ghanaian.

THE PEOPLE’S MANIFESTO INSPIRE HOPE, PROPEL GHANA MIDDLE INCOME AGENDA AND SET THE COUNTRY IN THE PATH OF ACCELERATED ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has demonstrated it continue commitment to
the ideals of democratic principle and continue putting the welfare of its citizenry ahead of
its activities. This is made clear in the launch of its ‘People’s Manifesto for the next
The people’s manifesto makes people the centre of it activities, reflect on the aspiration
and the need of Ghanaians, if implemented will propel economic growth and put Ghana in
the path of achieving its middle income status.
Typically, important areas are the expansion of educational infrastructure to end the shift
system, restructuring the free education to ease the burden and frustration parents go
through. The promise of making technical and vocational education free at the tertiary level
is a good initiative.
Implementation of free primary healthcare for all Ghanaians will take care debts owed to
health providers without back locks. Giving tax incentives to Landlords will reduce the
burden of rent advance tenants go through.
Incentives for small businesses will help create sustainable jobs whiles housing mortgage
will lessen the burden of civil servant in acquiring housing. Pension bonus will also go a
long way to ease the hardship on pensioners during retirement.
Injecting $ 10 billion dollars The ‘BIG PUSH’ Agenda will tackle the high infrastructure
deficit, inject a minimum capital into the local economy which will trigger the economic
growth and translate into development. Another important aspect of the people’s manifesto
is it transformational and restructuring of state institution to make it more relevance to
conform to current business environment.
Back Bone of Good Governance commend the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and
its flag bearer for such an impressive manifesto. It is competitive, conventional and set a
high standard for other political parties to follow. This is good for Ghana’s democracy
since this will address the plight of the people and improve on the existing level of
development of the country’s human resource base.
We therefore call on Ghanaians to embrace the people’s manifesto and give NDC another
chance to transform the country.
