Bolgatanga Hosts NPP Regional Executives Election

Fifty-three (53) candidates are contesting for 10 positions as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Upper East region elects new regional executives to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.

It is all cheers as voting is about to commence at the GNAT Hall amidst heavy security presence.

The contestants are competing for positions of Regional Chairman, First and Second Vice Chairman, Regional Secretary, Youth Organiser, Assistant Secretary, NASARA coordinator, Women Organiser, Regional Organiser and Regional Treasurer.

Alhaj Abdallah Otito Achuliwor, an aspirant contesting the Upper East Regional Chair of the NPP has given the assurance that he would reactivate patriotism among party faithfuls for victory 2020, but it seems the acting Chairman, Mohammed Murtala Ibrahim,the incumbent who took over after the demise of the late Adams Mahama, is the favorite of the delegates.

The other three contestants are: Lawyer Anthony Namoo, Joseph Agongo and Filson Awankua.

There are seven people contesting for the first vice chairman position. They are Isaac Adawele Atasige, Moses Kwabena Atinga,Jonathan Jambeidu, Imoro Malik, Alhaji Abubakari Saddique Jamal Deen, Osman Mahamudu Konkonaba and Anaba Isaac Hakeem.

Five people, including a female, who are contesting for the position of second vice chairperson position are: Diana Aburiya Asuure, Bugri Abubakar Ibrahim, Alogitera Wewoliamo Richard Ahmed Shaibu Dardire, and Paul K. Yin.

There are six people contesting for the Regional Secretary position. They are Cletus Innocent Ayabire (incumbent), Roland Minyila, Emmanuel Nsor-Atindana, Abdul-Karim Amandi, Amadu Mogtar Bagya, and Samuel Assam Passim.

Three are vying for the post of assistant secretary. They are Elvis Figo Atia Awonekai, Atangiba Mohammed Shakiru, and Richard Akamah.

The Nasara coordinator position is being contested by five people. They are Ambelle Awudu, Alhaji Mohammed Siitah Abubakari, Sule Musah Delwinde, Baba Kamara and Ustarz Seidu Abass.

Six people are also contesting for the Regional Organiser position. They are Charles Taleog Ndanbon, Alhaji Issifu Mumuni, Gregory Abasang, Agana Bawa Rashid, Stanley Mort Kurug, and Jerry Asamani.

The Regional Youth Organiser post is contested by five people namely, Solomon Latif Yenah, Lukman Abubakar Sorogho, Andrew Atariwini, Abubakari Atosaana Ayuba and Samuel Atiru Amangdedam.

The Regional Treasurer position has four people contesting. They are Mboda Osman Kariyamah,Joseph Awinpanga Akanfaba, Daniel Nsobila Ayine and Edmund Bombande.

The Regional Women Organiser position has six contestants. They are Ayamba Georgina, Faustina Agetera Janet Lamisi Asumda, Margaret Akagwire, Florence Kuribila, and Augustina Atanga.

In all, 300 delegates are expected to be present and vote for their executives.
