Bono Region Records New COVID-19 Case As Ghana Crosses 3,000 Infections

Bono is the latest region to record it’s first case of the novel Coronavirus in the country, making the country’s total infected regions thirteen (13).

The Ghana Health Service, which released it’s new data of infections as of May 7, 2020, indicated that one person had tested positive to the virus.

Reports indicate that the first case of the region was recorded in the Jaman North district. However, it is not clear whether the new case was imported from other regions that are already battling the virus.

Ghana’s Situation

372 more Coronavirus cases have been reported by officials, jumping the total case count to 3,091.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) said a total of 137,924 tests have been done so far since the country’s first case in March this year.

Nine (9) more patients have recovered from their illness and discharged making the total number of recoveries 303, with the death toll still 18.

The Savannah, Ahafo and Bono East remain the only regions in Ghana yet to record a case.
