BREAKING NEWS: Martin Amidu Exposed by Kennedy Agyapong

Hours after the infamous press release by the former Special Prosecutor, Martin A.B.K Amidu, some damning evidence has been provided that faults him of dishonesty.

Martin Amidu noted on the third page of his 4-paged resignation letter to the President that his emoluments and other conditions of service were never satisfied as agreed in his entire two years and some months working for the state.

This matter has been brought under the microscopic analysis of Kwaku Annan, the host of the Seat Show on NET2 Television. He pooled a document dated 16 February 2019, where the Special Prosecutor directed The Secretary to the Office of the Special Prosecutor to make available an amount of Ten thousand Ghana cedis (GHC10,000.00) to his person, and a Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC5,000.00) to his Deputy, as monthly operational allowances.

More worrying as emphasized by Mr. Annan was the fact that the time of the letter was so instructive and fraught with personal interest- a like case of conflict of interest, in the management of public resources.

These facts as established by Mr. Annan outs some grave questions on the accusations leveled by Martin Amidu on the President, as failing to honor payment of benefits entitled to him and the deputy.

Interestingly, the Chairman of the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, Ben Abdallah Banda on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News confirmed that full disclosure was made in respect of the payment of these benefits and emoluments to the Special Prosecutor.

Per his account, the Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP) was not captured on the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) as required, and as such ought to be integrated for the processing of any payment and procurement by the office.

The question then is, why didn’t Martin Amidu speak to these benefits that he’s enjoyed since February 2019? Could he be that dishonest by painting a gloomy picture about the Akufo-Addo government? Or is he playing by a political agenda, especially when the content of his letter speaks so ill about the President?
