Agyemang Prempeh has advised multiple award-winning musician, Stonebwoy, to control his anger before it controls him.
The Power 97.9FM presenter said the reggae and dancehall artiste anger issues could land him in prison in the worst case scenario.
His advice comes a few days after Stonebwoy allegedly assaulted the manager of his colleague musician Sarkodie, Angel Town.
According to reports, the two had a misunderstanding at Sarkodie’s Black Love virtual concert rehearsal that resulted in an alleged assault on the artiste manager.
Speaking about the infamous incidence on his Power Entertainment show on Power 97.9FM on Saturday 15 August 2020, he said, “Stonebwoy, we would advice you please we don’t want your God given career helping you and your family and others to cause problem for you. You would let this career send you to prison one day. This talent God has given to you. Stonebwoy, it’s not what we wish is a time to come, then we’ll sit on radio to say, ‘They have jailed Stonebwoy’. If you’re not careful one day, you will proceed on this tangent, it wouldn’t be pulling of trigger but you will hit someone and the person will die instantly. Then, they’ll arraign you, before you realize, you’re in prison. Fifteen years later, then you will return and you will turn a pastor. You’ve become an old man pastor. You say you’re a pastor. This is the time we’re advising you, if you’ve anger in order desist from gun use. Do not associate yourself with gun.”
Citing the grace to grass story of Nana Akwasi Agyeman, popularly known as Gemann, one of the country’s biggest musical exports in the late 1980s and early 1990s who fell from being the biggest name in Ghanaian music to becoming a prisoner as an example, Agyemang cautioned Stonebwoy to be careful.
He said, “He’s a fine artiste and several people benefit from his craft. He shouldn’t let his anger take his talent to prison. Then his wife will be lingering in poverty. We’d say Stonebwoy’s child is miserable. His brother or someone he takes care of is also miserable. Similar issue occurred to Gemann. So Stonebwoy we plead with you, we know you, your fanbase or family member is doing the listening. If your anger worries you, especially with the gun desist from using it.”
If Stonebwoy heeds to the advice, Agyemang Prempeh said, will help and save his music career. Otherwise he mentioned, “we all live to see”.
Meanwhile, Stonebwoy has since apologized for his actions but denied reports that his team pulled a gun during the confrontation.
“I will use this opportunity to apologize again and say a very big sorry to Angelo and by extension to Sarkodie.”
“We have to live in love, we have to continue supporting one another and make sure we have a peaceful environment to thrive in and grow. Check out the event on 16th of August with crazy performance,” Stonebwoy said a short video posted on his Twitter page Friday, August 14.
