Daddy Lumba Sues His ‘Look-alike’ Over Impersonation

Popular Ghanaian High Life musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known in showbiz circles as Daddy Lumba, has sued one Kwame Anokye for impersonating him.

According to Daddy Lumba, Kwame Anokye, since 2010, has reportedly been imitating him for commercial purposes without his consent.

Kwame Anokye, a self acclaimed Daddy Lumba, is usually seen at night clubs and other social functions in Accra and Kumasi performing songs of the veteran musician. He is alleged to have told many Ghanaians that Mr Fosu is his father.

Daddy Lumba, who has debunked claims that they are related, has therefore prayed the Accra High Court to prevent his impersonator, from using his name under no circumstance.

He also seeking for a “Perpetual injunction” to stop the defendant from playing and performing his songs at events, and also stop the defendant from claiming the two are related.

The writ, which was issued by Benjamin Barfo -Bonney and Lex Mundus Law Firm, further seeks that Anokye “account(s) for all the profits” obtained from playing Daddy Lumba’s songs at all social events and night clubs from 2010 till date ” in addition to other relief that the court may deem fit.”
