Okyeame Kwame says despite making an entry into the Ghanaian music space as a Hiplife musician, he currently churns out Highlife songs.
The musician, who has over two decades of experience in the Ghanaian music fraternity and has curved a niche for himself said he has transitioned into a Highlife musician and as a result records such songs.
Sitting down with Agyemang Prempeh on the Legends programme, the multiple award-winning musician born Kwame Nsiah-Apau said he primarily focuses on the music genre that uses the melodic and main rhythmic structures of traditional Akan music.
“I sing Highlife but I started as a Hip hop-like artist. If you ask me, currently, I do Highlife music,” he said on TV XYZ on Sunday, 13 September 2020.
According to the incumbent VGMA Record of the Year awardee, music elvoves around business, stating one need to be smart to flourish and rise up effectively in the ladder of music success and fame.
“Music is a business and every business is driven by innovation. It is either you are part of a changing trend or leading the trend,” Okyeame Kwame opined.
