Erstwhile Media Excel Music Production signee, Rose Adjei, has broken her silence on issues surrounding her exit from the record label.
The gospel singer said there was no bad blood between her and the Chief Executive Officer of the label, Mr. Ernest Kwasi Arhin famously called Kwasi Ernest which fuelled her decision to leave Media Excel, contrary to speculations.
According to her, Media Excel Music Production’s role in her singing career is praiseworthy, but along the line both parties reached a consensus, and agreed to go their separate ways.
“I recorded and shot two videos prior to meeting him [Kwasi Ernest] in 2014. So what we planned was that he was coming on board to help in the progress of my works as an executive producer. He’d invest in the promotion, that was the agreement,” Mrs. Adjei said on Power 97.9FM on Saturday, 15 August 2020.
She added that, “We from the beginning wanted to take monies already invested in the music from him, but we realized at the end when the business progressed, its Rose Adjei. So we rescinded our decision. He invested in the music. It reached a point it ended.”
She told Agyemang Prempeh on Power Entertainment that she strongly believes everyone she encounters has a specific mission to fulfill in her life and when it’s achieved the person leaves.
“What I’d say is I wouldn’t sit here to be ungrateful to Mr Kwasi Ernest. But there’s one thing I always say, in life, we come to meet people along the line who come to do certain things, to fulfill the destiny of God in our lives. It’s a process when he or she comes and accomplish his or her mission in my life, that’s it. That is how God has planned it. And I don’t feel there is (was) any issue.”
Known for songs like ‘God’s Favor’, ‘Nyame Ye’, ‘Agya W’ahwe Me So’, ‘Adom’, ‘Wose Ayeyi, etc, Rose stressed that there was no friction at Media Excel and that she ended her working relationship with the label on peaceful terms.
“It been six years since I left Mr Kwasi Ernest, I’d have sat on several radio stations to have spoken about it. But I feel [the fact] I haven’t sat anywhere to divulge anything means there was no problem. I left in a peaceful way. And I’ve progressed in life and I’m grateful to him that he signed and helped in all aspects he was supposed to do for me.”
Rose Adjei is currently on a media tour promoting her new single dubbed ‘Na God’
