IGP Interdicts Police Commander

The Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh has interdicted the Lakeside District Commander, DSP Eric Partey Opata for keeping a suspect in police custody for nine days without due process.

The police in a statement said in the absence of Mr Opata, the Adenta Divisional Police Commander, DSP Cephas Coffie has been directed to supervise the command till further notice.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo recently appointed Mr Oppong-Boanuh as Acting IGP after asking David Asante-Apeatu to proceed on leave.
