A National Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Said Sinare has asked residents in the Muslim communities to trust the NDC to transform Zongos and inner cities.
He said the flagbearer of the NDC, former president John Mahama, has a track record of good governance and is also committed to transforming the lives of Ghanaians. He therefore urged Muslims to endorse his candidature by voting him to power in the December elections.
The former Ghana High Commissioner to Saudi Arabia, who was addressing a mini rally at Nima Friday night, said the erstwhile NDC adminstration under Mr Mahama was better than what Ghanaians are experiencing under the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said “let’s kick the insensitive NPP government out in the elections and bring John Mahama to continue his good projects.”
“Let’s kick this corrupt NPP government out…They don’t have the ordinary citizens at heart but rather pursue their selfish interests,” Alhaji Sinare said in Hausa as he criticised the NPP government for the massive corruption in the government.
Explaining some of the policies contained in the NDC 2020 manifesto, Alhaji Sinare assured the gathering the next NDC government would transform Zongos than before and stressed the party’s agenda for jobs under the NDC’s job policies was attainable
He also explained that the party was committed to creating 1 million sustainable jobs in 4 years for Ghanaians, including Muslims when elected to power.
Chairman Sinare also said apart from the NDC government expanding the free SHS programme to private schools, school drop-outs who have been abandoned by the ruling NPP would benefit from the NDC’s state-sponsored apprenticeship programme which will train about 500,000 Ghanaians to acquire vocational skills.
He noted that the jobs that would be created as a result of the training will earn inner city dwellers decent salaries as part of the NDC’s grand agenda to transform the lives of Ghanaians.
He stated a John Mahama-led government would not share wealth among his family members as seen under the Akufo-Addo adminstration.
Urging the residents to vote for the NDC for a better country, Alhaji also urged the youth to guard their votes on December 7,2020.
He said the ballot must be protected to ensure that their voices are heard.
