Makango: Dozens of NPP members cross carpet to NDC

Some over 25 supporters of the ruling New patriotic Party (NPP) at Makango in the Salaga South Constituency in the savanah region have defected to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The group of young men and women said they were fed up with the Akufo-Addo government, after it failed to honour promises made to them in 2016. They also indicated that the NDC projects in the area has made the NDC credible and has earned their support.

Declaring their support before the Deputy Northern Regional Treasurer of the NDC, Mr. John Kpeli, one of them noted that the policies in the NDC manifesto looked credible having put together the projects the Mills-Mahama administration undertook in the then Northern Region.

In an interview with XYZ News, Mr Kpeli disclosed that the message from the NDC manifesto contributed to the success.

“Their support for NPP predates the era of Hon Saddique Boniface. This couldn’t have being possible without our hardwork in the area,” Kpeli noted.

He added that the new members who have been welcomed accordingly have promised to get more NPP members join the NDC.

“The defectees have promised to join the house-to-house campaign to ensure that H.E John Dramani Mahama and Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah are elected as President and MP,” he stated and explained that the message of the NDC candidate in the area was being accepted by most electorates including some members of the NPP.

The NDC man who has begun a campaign in the area further assured he will work to get more NPP members join the NDC.
