Running Mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, on Friday paid a visit to two female former ministers who served under different NDC administrations.
In the separate visits, she conferred with former Education Minister, Dr. Christine Amoako-Nuamah and former Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ama Benyiwa-Doe.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang in a statement described them as “illustrious patriots who served our country with distinction” and added that their works made it possible for many women including herself to get to her current position.
Below is her statement;
I had the rare privilege of conferring with two iconic women of our NDC political tradition earlier today when I paid seperate visits to their respective homes.
Dr. Christine Amoako-Nuamah and Hon. Ama Benyiwa-Doe are illustrious patriots who served our country with distinction and have made it possible for many women including me to get to this pedestal.
I am deeply honoured for their warm hospitality and great counsel.
I salute these matriarchs and all those who came before them for their accomplishments and inspiring sacrifices. We will not disappoint them and the younger generation to whom we owe a much better future of concrete opportunities.
