The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the NDC is encouraging members to patronize the ongoing mass registration for the Ghana card in the Accra West region.
This according to a statement by the regional Chairman Joseph Ade Coker, is in line with the decision of national leadership, and Regional Executives of the party.
It is a U-turn of the party’s position, and the boycott of the NIA registration exercise by Minority MPs against the decision not to recognize use of voter ID cards.
But according to the NDC, the latest directive follows the acceptance cards as part of secondary requirements.
Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC Joseph Ade Coker tells Power News all regional, Constancy and branch executives have been directed to facilitate the process.
Meanwhile there are reports of several technical probles including the difficulty in printing out ID cards…..the process has been very slow amidst rumours about late evening registration beyond the stipulated period.
NIA authorities are expected to wrap up by the close of the week and cross over the Accra East region but there are indications many more people may not be able to go through the process.
