Northern Region: NPP Divided Over Attempts To Postpone Reg. Elections For Second Time

Some Members of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern region, especially aspirants seeking to be elected on Saturday, April 28,2018, are infuriated over  what they have described as attempts by some executives of their party to postpone the elections for the second time in a month.

XYZ News sources say some of the executives and the aspirants have vowed to resist any form of postponement of the elections while the rest have okayed the decision.

The disagreement emerged Thursday afternoon following rumors that some national executives of the NPP have spoken with the regional chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu to push the election which he is a candidate to next month.

It is not clear if the development is as a result of the accident the chairman was involved in in the early hours of Thursday, but some loyalists of Bugri Naabu also want the election to be postponed to allow him recover fully.

Meanwhile, three of the accident victims have been discharged while Bugri Naabu and one other victim who sustained a fracture on the knee are still on admission at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
