Normally, the countries that has implemented such policies the government provides financial support because the government gets revenue from its implementation. Government generate a lot of money and I’m surprised successive governments of Ghana doesn’t know these simple solutions. They have to put these structures in place.” he said.
Uncle Bessa added, “There are several revenue music generates for the country when you implement these necessary measures. It will solve so many problems because music creates several employement, how can they sit unconcerned to see the industry deteriorate to this day. And that’s why some of us put ourselves out there to see the right thing is done to help the future generation.”
“Government would have to wake up,” the veteran record producer and musician charged.
Responding to the question whether government does not prioritize the needs of the creative sector, the ‘Belembe’ hit singer said, “They have to. I don’t know their plans for the industry but they have to.”
He questioned, “In your right frame of mind how could you sit down and not think about musicians but when it is approaching elections you look for them?”
