Renowned Ghanaian Music Producer, Fred Kyei Mensah popularly known as Fredyma is of the view that those in the live instrumentation part of the Creative Art Industry have been relegated to the background.
During a discussion on the 5 per cent tax relief for the people in the Creative Art Industry on Power FM’s Entertainment show hosted by Agyemang Prempeh, he posited, the ‘band team’ are supposed to be served first at any event for it to boost their energy but they are always being the last, as if, they are of no importance but in terms of the Creative activities they are well known for.
“In fact, when we go to any event, we in the band are to be served first but we are always served last so in everything they relegate us to the back as if we are of no importance but in terms of the Creative activities we are in charge so I beg you Mr President open the way for us because we in the Creative art industry are suffering,” he said.
He also said church and the Creative art industry have cultivated some stereotype in some way against the bandsmen, so if the gateway has been opened for churches, pubs should also be opened.
“I don’t understand why for the Creative art industry alone pubs have been closed down”.
“As for me Koo Kyei I don’t understand but is like they say our health issue should be of a prime concern than entertainment” he added.
He also revealed that the people in the Creative sector has been relegated to the back as if they are of no importance but in terms of Creative activities they are the most recognized people.
