The US based PR firm and strategists, notorious for its deployment of all tools, including crude means of getting results for clients, has admitted in a press statement, that indeed, it has since 2017 been paid with Ghanaian tax payers money.
KRL International, founded by Riva Levinson, a bullish expert in smear campaign and propaganda in it’s first ever press statement to the Ghanaian media revealed that it has over a decade long relationship with President Akufo-Addo, culminating in it currently becoming a contractor for the Ghanaian government, for which it is paid appropriate wages.
“Indeed, KRL’s relationship with Nana Akufo-Addo dates back to his 2008 campaign,” it said in a statement and conceded that, “Prior to President Akufo-Addo’s inauguration on January 7, 2017 KRL had a contract with the ‘I Am for Nana Foundation’ in support of his campaign” that won the 2016 elections in Ghana.
After the elections, KRL explained it continued working for Akufo-Addo’s team during the transitional period. Sources say KRL was responsible for statements uttered by the Akufo Addo team which sought to create negative impressions about the outgoing government of President John Mahama, as a wasteful regime and that the new regime was seeking to put Ghana beyond aid.
In the statement, Levinson’s team of dirty lobbyists and image destroyers confessed that “after President Akufo-Addo took office and established a cabinet, KRL signed its first agreement with the government of Ghana to provide support to the Ministry of Finance.”
Until last week’s exposé by international investigative journalists, that KRL was being paid with Ghanaian taxes for secretly working for President Akufo-Addo, the Ghanaian media and public had never heard of the organisation. No Ghanaian state institution had known of KRL, except Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta and the Akyem kitchen cabinet of President Akufo-Addo.
In spite of this fact, of having been in a secretive arrangement with the Ghanaian President and his family, KRL in it’s statement claimed that the working arrangement it has with Nana Akufo Addo’s campaign and government “has been transparent and proper.”
Insiders who blew the whistle on Riva Levinson’s KRL activities in Ghana say the team are responsible for all the dirty propaganda that the NPP put out prior to 2016 elections to denigrate the then President John Dramani Mahama. And it is to reward them for their services that Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta brought KRL under government pay roll.

Information leaked to Ghanaian media indicate that founder of KRL International Riva Levinson and her team have been lodging at Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel, Accra, under an all-expenses paid arrangement by the Akufo-Addo government through the Ministry of Finance.
KRL International, according to Open Source Investigators (OSI), an international organization, in 2016 had provided what had been described as a dirty lobbying service to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the name of “I Am For Nana Addo Foundation” through a US$100,000 contract signed with Ken Ofori-Atta, now Finance Minister.
Insiders say the then broke Akufo Addo team couldn’t afford fully paying KRL International for their services, so compensated the American PR firm with a new deal, when they came into government.
OSI, is a team of investigative journalists, researchers, fact-checkers, activists and data experts, who supply non-partisan and precise analyses and investigations to make citizens through an in-depth research behind political stories.
Documents provided by OSI, have revealed how the Akufo-Addo government in June 2017, signed a US$300,000 a year contract with the KRL International to provide lobbying and communication service with key institutions in the US, including Congress.
Aside, the contract sum of US$25, 000 a month, the Akufo-Addo government is reported to be paying for the sumptuous food, expensive drinks, laundry and other things placed at their disposal inside Kempiski Hotel.
The Daily Post is further informed that Riva has been in town for the past three and half years, leaving many at the Finance Ministry, wondering her actual work, since KRL was rather engaged by the Minister to work in the US, including organizing regular meetings with the international donors per the June 2017 agreement, which has her signature and that of Charles Adu Boahene, the Deputy Minister of Finance.
There are suspicions at the Finance Ministry that, Riva, could be doing something other than just lobbying for the Akufo-Addo government and being paid with Ghanaian taxpayers’ money.
Ministry of Finance officials are unhappy with the arrangement, especially when they cannot track what the KRL is doing, but they have not mustered the courage to speak out for fear of being victimized.
